Transform Combodia

From the Slums to University

This is what happens when a child is supported all the way through to university.
Transform Cambodia. Transforming Lives. Transforming a nation.

As Transform Cambodia has reached its third decade of operations, we are seeing more and more of our students reach university. In fact, in 2026, we currently have over 800 university students enrolled at Transform Cambodia.

For years, children have been supported through child sponsorship to stay in school, grow in confidence and complete their education. Now, many of those same children are reaching university.

That is where the intern program begins.

These are not new students. They are young adults who have grown up through Transform. They have completed school and are now taking the next step into university and vocational training.

This stage is critical.

Getting to university is a major achievement, but staying there is not easy. Tuition fees, transport, food and living costs place real pressure on students and their families. Without support, many are forced to stop studying before they finish.

The intern program exists to change that.

Through co-sponsorship, students receive the practical support they need to remain in university, along with continued mentoring and leadership development. They are not only studying. They are also growing as role models for the next generation.

Many interns are already giving back, mentoring younger students in the same centres where they once received support.

This is the full picture of transformation.

A child joins the program.

They are supported through school.

They complete Year 12.

They enter university.

They step into leadership.

Without intern sponsorship, that final step is at risk.

With it, students complete their education and move into careers that strengthen their families and communities.

This is why co-sponsoring an intern matters.

It is not starting something new.

It is helping finish what has already begun.
