Our Work
We support children from early childhood through to university and beyond.
The Transform story
Transform Cambodia started in 2006 when our founders, Mark Patterson and Ken Loughton, two businessmen from Perth Australia, make a generational difference for abused women and children in poverty and without hope.
Research revealed few programs breaking the poverty cycle and Mark felt led by God to begin the work himself. In 2006, Transform Cambodia was founded with one goal: to guarantee transformation in children’s lives spiritually, educationally, and socially.
Transform focuses on what it takes to transform a child into a world changer. Every program is built around three priorities:
- Helping children know they are loved and created by God.
- Teaching them to dream and have hope.
- Equipping them through education, character and leadership development to build a different future.
True poverty is not a lack of material goods; it is a lack of hope. Transform seeks to restore hope through faith, education and community.
How Transform applies its vision
We establish headquarters in the country
Local Cambodian’s staff our Headquarters and manage our operations.
We set up local centres for street kids
We build local centres to bring health care, food, mentoring and education.
We connect with partners
We build relationships with churches, schools, investors and partner organisations to help and assist in a number of different ways.
We care for communities
Each centre has a family network of more than 500 locals. Due to the relationships we develop with these communities, there are many opportunities for Transform partners to get involved in further missions.
What We Do
Education
Transform provides world-class tutoring and learning through their schooling years and into university or vocational training. We continue to look for innovative ways to use technology and connect children to a globalised learning community. Our goal is to build their capacity to think creatively.
Leadership & Life Skills
Beyond core subjects we instill leadership values, problem solving and entrepreneurial abilities. These are all skills to assist them in being change makers for their nation in whatever capacity they choose.

The Future
Since 2021, our oldest students have been finishing high school and are transitioning to university, vocational training or employment pathways.
In 2025, over 90% of our year 12 students were accepted into university. Given the number of students journying through higher education we have started The Font – a student ministry assisting them through their university studies and engaging the older students to invesrt back into the lives of the younger children in Transform.
We are also creating business incubators, called Transform Cambodia Enterprises, advanced leadership programs and scholarships for university study.
We see our graduates excelling in their chosen fields and developing into leaders in the areas that can shape culture.
Life Centres
We establish our Life Centres in the poorest districts of Phnom Penh and enrol up to 400 street children from the surrounding communities. Each Centre is led by trained staff who carefully vet each child to ensure they’re genuinely poor. All our children still live at home (however basic and poor that may be), so we work very closely with their families (some with two parents, sometimes one parent and sometimes grandparents). Then, we start to build their future with health care, education, life skills, leadership, fluency in English and creative development.
Our children are the real heroes of this story; they’re amazing!
